The Sixth WMO International Workshop on Tropical Cyclones
(IWTC-VI) will be held in San José, Costa Rica, from 21 to 30 November

The pre-session workshop documents will be in English and will be distributed to participants before the workshop proper.Local Secretariat

Costa Rica, a country in Central America, is easily reached by regular flights from American cities such as Toronto, Miami, Dallas, Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, as well as European cities including Madrid, Barcelona and Frankfort. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Ramada Plaza Herradura Hotel on behalf of the IWTC-VI participants. The room rates, including breakfast, lunch, taxes and tips (maid and bellboy) are:

CurrencyThe currency used is the Colon. Its parity with the US Dollar is approximately 510 Colones.
Transportation from and to the airportThe Hotel provides free transportation to and from the International Airport according to the following schedule; participants are required to send their arrival dates and flight numbers on the hotel reservation form to the Local Secretariat:
"Taxis Unidos Aeropuerto Juan Santamaría" (orange cars) provide transportation service from the airport to the hotel at the rate of US $13.
